Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. She started writing her own songs. As well as Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mom said that her songs can not only aid in her efforts to get noticed, and also inspire others to see their significance within the global community and see how they can benefit from her songs, she decided to begin singing in public. When she began playing the piano, she was just six and was writing her first song at the age of nine. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she turned 14. There was no way she could have imagined to turn into Aurora. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. She says that music is her favorite way of feeling something.
