Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for pioneering the study of child witnesses and eyewitness memories in legal settings. Prof. Goodman has published numerous papers she has received grants from numerous sources and been recognized with numerous national and international prizes. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around the world about policies and studies pertaining to child victims by the legal system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
